Decisions, Decisions

I can't decide which is cuter.

Fully clothed?

Or just in a diaper?

Dream A Little Dream Of Me

99.9% of the time, if The Lime does something in his sleep, it's suckling. It's pretty obvious that he's dreaming about eating.

Here, I can only assume that he's dreaming about riding California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure. All I can say, he's braver than I am because I keep my hands securely wrapped around the bar in front of me.

Welcome, Little One

A year ago today, we found out that a little boy would be joining our family.

LaVor was talking to The Lime tonight, while we were getting ready, and expressed to him how grateful we were that Heavenly Father chose us to be his parents.

I heard on the news last week that babies smile this crazy amount of times per day and adults hardly smile. Consider us babies because with The Lime around, we can't do anything but grin from ear to ear.

Making It A Tradition

I think we've been to San Francisco more in the last 6 weeks than we have in the last 6 months.

Our friends were coming into town for an A's game and wanted to meet up for breakfast. We couldn't pass up the invitation when we found out they were going to Mama's! We went to Mama's for my birthday last year and absolutely loved it! The only downside is the crazy line that forms outside, before the store even opens. In order to avoid this line, Jim & Karen wanted to be there first thing. Ack! You mean get up early on a Saturday?! If it meant eating delicious food, we were willing to sacrifice some sleep. The Lime just happened to wake up 15 minutes before my alarm was set to go off at 5:15. We got ready and headed into the City only to arrive seconds before they opened the restaurant doors.

Cool thing? They have stroller valet! We were a bit nervous about bringing the stroller since Mama's is anything but spacious. We were relieved when the host graciously took our stroller to a secret & safe location, while we enjoyed our breakfast.

We had a great time visiting with Jim & Karen but once again, failed to take a picture! Next time!

After breakfast, LaVor asked what, if anything, I wanted to do while we were there. It was a little after 9 and we had no plans until later that night.

Every time we come into San Francisco, I always want to visit the house that was in Mrs. Doubtfire. So that's what we did.

On the corner of Broadway & Steiner, here she is! I won't get my hopes up and think it looks the same on the inside as it did in the movie (made that mistake with Big Business) but the outside is identical!

After snapping a few pictures, we drove around Pacific Heights, with our jaws down to our toes. Talk about houses! We knew Nancy Pelosi lives in that area and tried Googling her address but were unsuccessful. Just for the record, we're not fans of Ms. Pelosi.

Our next destination? Lombard Street! We were on a roll with the houses so I convinced LaVor to let me take a picture of the Real World house. Unfortunately, as we were approaching the house and I'm yelling, "It's the next one!", the car somehow just kept on going. That's all that will be said about that.

On our way from Pacific Heights, we passed a home that reminded us of Europe!

I've walked up Lombard street but never driven down. We try to stay away from the tourist attractions but I wanted to take pictures of the lovely hydrangeas that adorn the most crookedest street in the world.

(View from the top of Lombard. Coit Tower with the Bay Bridge in the background. North Beach is in the bottom right corner)

Gorgeous! And they still had the morning dew on them!

On our way back to the Bay Bridge, we drove through North Beach and the outskirts of China Town. What do you think I said when I saw this sign?

Give yourself a pat on the back if you said, "Chandler Bing! HAHAHAHAHA!"

Found 'Em!

Thank you Pleasanton Farmer's Market, for providing me with sunflowers.

I've been enjoying their cheerfulness all week! They must have taken on the personality of the cute woman that sold them to me. She told me about 3 times that I looked like a Japanese doll. I re-assured her that I wasn't Japanese, a doll, or a Japanese doll.

Tally Mark 7

-He's a mover and a shaker! Crawling all over the place.
-He'll chew on anything he can get his hands on but is especially drawn to shoes.
-Freshly pureed bananas must taste better than the packaged kind. He scarfs the fresh ones down.
-He likes to give hugs and open mouth kisses...and then bite you.
-He likes to be sung to.
-He loves his cousins.
-We're trying to work on the waving and clapping but nothing has clicked.
-He's started to "run away" if you tell him you're going to get him.
-Babbling all the time.
-He tries to pull up and is sometimes successful and other times not.
-He's started this fake cry/cough "thing". Mommy & Daddy are not fans.
-Such a sweet boy that we ♥ ♥ ♥

Sun Shiney Day

I'm on the hunt for sunflowers. If you're local and you've spot some, let me know where!

Just Call Me Olive Oyl

One night last week, I was getting ready for bed and asked LaVor if he was ready? He said, "No. I'm hungry." Going to sleep hungry, is the worst.

I did my nightly routine and snuggled up with the blankets. I then heard the pots rattling and knew LaVor was making something. Our cupboards weren't stocked with "good" stuff so I knew he was going to have to improvise.

Shortly after, he came into bed and I asked what was burning. He said nothing but boy did it sure smell like it. I knew he didn't make toast, since we didn't have any bread, but it was too late for me to imagine what we had that he could have cooked.

As I went into the kitchen the next morning to get my cereal, I saw this can on the counter...

I'm married to Popeye!

Down Ya Go

I woke up last weekend and found The Lime like this...

On his knees, chewing on his crib.

I went into his room yesterday and found him like this...

Standing and giggling profusely.

The mattress has officially moved down 2 notches.

Every Time

Many, many, many years ago, my great grandparents, MooMoo & Daddy MooMoo, lived in San Francisco. Whenever we make it into the city and I happen to see Divisadero Street, I have to remind LaVor who lived on it. We've gotten to the point where LaVor will beat me to it and remind me who lived on Divisadero.

Thank goodness for our zoom lens...

It was a chilly day in San Francisco but we managed to stay much warmer than the 2 kids that were playing in the Bay. As the family headed back to their car, I heard the little boy say, "But I want to play in the cold water!" I wonder how the drive home was?

Splish Splash!

After we got our PG&E bill this month, we agreed that we weren't going to turn the AC on anymore. So we've had to find other ways to stay cool...

The Lime seemed to enjoy it.

Now we'll see what the water bill is next month.

If You Really Knew Me

New favorite show on MTV.

I think everyone would benefit from doing something like this, not just high school students. How much better would we treat others if we really knew them?

It's got me thinking, "What do most people not know about me?" Unlike the kids on the show, I haven't tried to commit suicide, my parents aren't in jail and I don't belong to a clique. But there are some things that I don't tend to tell people the second I meet them.

If you really knew me, you'd know that...
  • More than anything, I'd love to have my brothers live close by. It's hard having family dinners without them.
  • I'd be fine never going in the ocean again. It's a greater force than I'm willing to mess with.
  • I have a hard time apologizing. I don't remember having to apologize for things when I was younger and it's stuck with me this entire time.
  • I wish I could change that.
  • In high school, I was mean. My sister and I had to wait for our dad to pick us up after school on some occasions and I spent that time criticizing every person that walked by. It's a miracle I had friends.
  • When I was 12, a boy told me I was ugly. I still have issues with my looks and have a hard time accepting any sort of compliment.
  • I struggle with letting things go. LaVor has to remind me often that I need to forgive & forget. Most times, I just forgive.
  • Hair grosses me out. Even my own hair, unless it's attached to my head. I get sick to my stomach if I find a hair stuck in between The Lime's fingers. Blech!
  • I compare myself to others all the time and am unfortunately a very jealous person.
  • I worry about having bad breath and can usually be found chewing gum.
  • The only ticket I've ever gotten was a fix-it ticket for a broken tail light.
  • I have a morning routine that I have to follow exactly! I also have a rhythm for putting my deodorant on.
  • My heart pounds every time I see our crazy neighbor. I never know when he'll "snap".
  • I had a crush on my 8th grade Core teacher.
  • A local radio station played a recording of my voice twice (that I know of) this week.
  • I smell my fingers religiously. Gross.
  • I cry every time I think about my brother-in-law being deployed. But am eternally grateful for men and women that sacrifice so much for my freedom.
  • I have numerous white hairs but am waiting for extra money to buy some dye at Sally's.
  • I can't wait to dive into the peach cobbler cupcakes I made today.
