She Can Arrive!

LaVor's Sister and Aunt put on a great baby shower for his other sister, Megan, on Wednesday night. Yummy desserts, adorable decorations, fun games and great company.

She's due the beginning of April and we can't wait to finally meet this little girl.

I love her expression...you can tell how cute the outfit is.

Tulips...my favorite!

The baby got lots of books...

...and Joe was getting a head start.

The super cute diaper cake Tiffany made.

Some of the guests.

Magic Fingers

I've always admired my long, skinny, quick fingers. And today, I love them even more.

After trying all week to win Coldplay tickets from 1 radio station (and being caller #7 twice in a row...arg! had to be #9!) and trying only once to win tickets from another station, I'm a winner!

And all to my quick fingers and handy dandy cell phone.

Thank you, Live 105! And I'll thank you even more if I win the trip to München! Viel Glück!

In Time Things Re-Arrange

You may have heard it last night, you may not have. But I'm thrilled to announce, here on our blog, that Blink 182 is back!

November 4, 1999 - My brother bought 5 tickets to the Blink 182 concert. He, Tanner, Julie, LaVor and I went. Who knew that 15 year old me met my husband that night. Weird.

As you can see, No Doubt and Blink 182 graced my walls, their lyrics were my textbook covers, their patches pinned to my backpack. Now, both bands are back together. It doesn't feel like 2009...I'm being taken back 10 years! And I like it.

103 degrees

That's the text message I got on my way to work this morning.

Yesterday, LaVor started feeling pretty icky. I knew it wasn't the weird illness I had because none of the symptoms were the same. He woke up this morning looking like death and felt rather warm. I'm not sure if it's because we don't have kids but we aren't equipped with a thermometer so we weren't able to see if he had a fever.

When I received the message, I was puzzled as to how he was able to determine his temperature was 103 degrees. So I asked. And the answer was...his meat thermometer. I love LaVor...he's so resourceful!

The Rain Came Down

The drive home was long and wet tonight (Thank goodness for the wet! Prayers are being answered!).

But there was a reward at the end...

Start Your Spring Cleaning Now!

As most of you know, The Jibbley Girls held a garage sale last year and earned over $700 for our Avon Walk for Breast Cancer! We couldn't have done it without all of the generous donations.

I'm hoping that we can have another successful fundraiser this year.

On Saturday, March 21st, I will be holding a garage sale at my home. If you have anything that you'd like to donate, please contact me and we can arrange a pick up. Please note, due to the size of my house, I won't be able to take large items such as furniture. If you're able to, I'd ask that you hold onto those until Friday the 20th of March. I'd be happy to pick them up on that date so we're ready for the sale on the 21st.

Thank you all for your help, motivation and support. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

With love,

Kimberly

You're what?!?!

That's the response I would get this week when people saw me reading. I know how to read, I just don't enjoy it.I tend to get sleepy, even if I wasn't sleepy before I started reading, and my mind tends to drift and think about things unrelated to the book. Last night, LaVor and I were both reading in bed and I looked over at him and said, "Now this is something I thought I'd never see us both do...read for fun!"

I was browsing a woman's blog a few weeks ago and came across a book that she was reading. I clicked the links available and found this: My Life with Laura: A Love Story by Chad Moutray.

I immediately ordered it and it arrived last Sunday. I couldn't put it down (another rare thing). I'm just about done with it and am quite sad, not just because of how it ends but because I finally found a book that I enjoy and I'm done with it in a week!

This book has given me another opportunity to reflect on all of the many blessings I have in my life. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to recognize all of them. I am especially grateful for the eternal family that I have been blessed with. That no matter what happens here on this earth, we are bound forever and will be together in the life hereafter.
