I hate it when I "remind" myself of something and 2 seconds later, it's forgotten.
As I was sitting in traffic last night, freaking out about being late to my baby shower, I remembered that I needed to grab my camera on my way out the door, after brushing my teeth. My reminder didn't work.
LaVor's family put on a great shower for us! Lots of fun games (apparently I need to study up on my nursery rhymes, I'm not full of hot air and my hospital bill is going to be 100 grand...yikes!) and catching up with friends! I feel like now we are "officially" (physically) ready for The Lime because he has a place to hang out (in his new "little lamb" seat...it even has lamb ears!), we got a diaper bag, tons of cute outfits, his own pair of Converse (I almost peed in my pants, they're so cute!), oodles of diapers, a couple teething toys...I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff.
Another great night with wonderful ladies!
Side note: Had my last "regular" appointment today and nothing's happening. I did almost cry while waiting for the Midwife, thinking about this entire process and how fast, yet slow, it's gone. A co-worker and I were talking today and I shared with her how I was sad this morning, thinking that it won't be "me & him" soon. I'm anxious to carry him in my arms but I've been able to have him all to myself for so long and now I'll have to share.

One Step Closer
My mom and sisters busted their buns and put on a wonderful baby shower for The Lime and me.It was A's themed and they went all out with green, yellow and baseballs.
It was a great day spent with with friends and family, yummy food, fun games (you survived, Kari!), and lots of neat gifts.
Does it make me more excited for The Lime? Yes.
Do I feel more ready? No.

A Sweet Ending
What was sweet, you ask?
*College football is over...hallelujah! (There will be an even bigger hallelujah when the Super Bowl is behind us)
*Alabama won (I root for anyone that plays against Texas, being a Texas A&M fan...don't think though that I'm a football fan, because I'm not)
*Peach cobbler for dessert

*This babe

21 Questions...Or Close To It
My nephew and I are talking about The Lime. He's asking lots of questions...will The Lime have a kitchen? When will he be a kitchen boy? When is he coming out? How big is he? Why is your tummy so big? What are these?
The last question came out when he grabbed my boob.
I actually have a question that's been bothering me for a while.
Nail salons give me the creeps. Hence why I've never gotten a pedicure and only 2 manicures in my lifetime.
This leads to my question of: What sanitizing takes places with the nail polish that is used during a pedicure or manicure? As far as I'm concerned, none. Does this freak anyone else out? The thought of sharing nail polish with complete strangers and their nails? Why is the sanitizing of the instruments such a big deal but you never hear anything about that shade of red? Yuck.

The Last One To Go
LaVor's younger brother got married on Tuesday, being the last sibling to take the plunge.
The ceremony was lovely, weather had cleared up and they both looked great.
I wish I knew why I feel the need to cry every time I make a wedding cake. My excuse this time...being 9 months pregnant. I don't think I've been hormonal but I'm going to pull "the card" for this one.
Thanksgiving has come and gone, Christmas is behind us, the wedding is over. Next big thing...the arrival of The Lime.

He's Famous!
Can an unborn child be famous? I suppose if the parents are famous, the child is famous whether it's born or not.
We went to breakfast with my family this morning, a Christmas Eve tradition, and The Lime was on the menu.
I'm pretty sure The Lime will be a delight.
P.S. - There's a lemon poundcake baking in the oven and it smells amazing. Not the most "Christmasy" dessert but I figure if you can have Christmas in July, you can have Easter in December. Also, I can hear A Christmas Story on tv. It wouldn't be Christmas Eve without it.

Changing The Lyrics
Growing up, I was a huge fan of the band Extreme. Such a big fan, that I wanted to have a set of twins (boy & girl) so I could name them Nina and Nuno. I've since changed my wishes.
Extreme sings this song...
I'm going to change the lyrics to "there's a hole in my stomach that could only be caused by you" and sing it to The Lime. His feet (I'm assuming he inherited my feet and they're huge) have found a nice spot on the left side of my stomach. If the constant jabbing/kicking/beating continues, I'm afraid my skin will give in and his foot is going to pop out.
I'm also changing his future athlete status to kick boxer.
