We're Not Alone

I know I shouldn't compare our lives to characters on tv but in the last 2 weeks, LaVor and I have seen ourselves in these actors.

I don't think it was a surprise to LaVor when we got married but I like things done a certain way. Just like the first minute of this video...

The dishes...I hated doing dishes growing up. Sometimes I think my siblings used more dishes just to make the task harder for whoever had the chore that night. For Christmas, my Mom would give us coupons and one of them always included a night off of dishes. Those were like gold!

Funny how things change. Sorta. I still hate doing the dishes but I hate when they're not done to my satisfaction. Therefore, it's easier for me to just do them.

Same goes for putting away the groceries.

But I'm not the only one with issues.

Our remote control is practically glued to LaVor's hand. On the last episode of "The Middle" there was a scene where Mike and Frankie were arguing about the other one's issues. We learned that Frankie is controlling, like me, and Mike won't let go of the remote, like LaVor!

Thank goodness we're normal!

I love you, California, with your Golden Gate ajar...

(I didn't Google this picture...it's mine. Please don't steal it.)

I've walked across this bridge 3 times in the last 3 years.

In less than 5 months, I'll have walked across it 4 times.

You've guessed it folks! I'm officially signed up to participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for the 4th time. Yippee!

I've already earned almost $200 just by standing on the street, waving my creative signs. I'm shooting on earning the entire $1,800 that way! But just in case you don't live locally and won't see me every Saturday morning, you can donate here.

Side note...if you have closer ties to LaVor, hold off on donating. He may be joining me this year!

Tally Mark 13

-Is officially in his "big boy" car seat. It's so weird to have him facing forward.
-Has 2 teeth that just poked through the gums. Total number = 9.
-Is not the great eater we once knew. He still does a decent job but is definitely getting to be picky.
-LOVES to have Daddy & Mommy chase him. I have a feeling "Hide and Go Seek" will be a favorite.
-Church is a joke. We stay in the chapel long enough to take the Sacrament and then it's out in the hall for the remaining 2.5 hours.
-Is a protester. When we take something away, he will either hit himself in the head, do this dreadful squeal or collapse on the floor like a piece of jell-o.
-Loves his blankies. Does not have a particular favorite but loves to snuggle with them. And eat them.
-Is slightly anemic so he has to take an iron supplement daily. Way to go, Mommy.
-Likes to stir with the pots and spatulas.
-Likes to eat the spatulas.
-Loves to brush his teeth.
-Will keep us on our toes for the rest of his life.

We've All Got Them...Butt Cracks & Opinions

It starts the second you announce to people that you're pregnant...opinions.

Why is it that people feel, once kids are in the picture, they can tell you whatever is on their mind?

With 4 kids in the baby-sitting picture nowadays, my sister and I (she more) get a lot of stares, comments, gasps, questions...you get the idea.

Another friend and I were talking a few weeks back and she shared with me that a few people have asked her why she and her husband got pregnant so quickly (in their opinion) after their last baby. Really? Is it any of their business? Are they going to help raise the kids, support them emotionally, financially, get up with them in the middle of the night, wipe their butts? Nope. Didn't think so.

The general public needs to remember that these kids have a mom and dad (hopefully) and they're the ones that get to make the decisions.

So in case you wanted to give me your opinion about something regarding The Lime, I'd suggest you keep them and your butt crack to yourself.

I may just put that on a t-shirt.

Completed

It took me all week but I finally got to send my handwritten note!

I had been meaning to write this woman, to express my gratitude towards her for her amazing attitude. She was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago and I hadn't seen her until recently. A few weeks after she was diagnosed, her husband lost his job. The first thing out of any one's mouth would be, "Why me? Why at this time?" But her take on it was the complete opposite! She saw it as a blessing, that her husband would now be able to take her to appointments and be by her side during this trying time.

For the short time I was able to visit with her, nothing but good things came out of her mouth. She's able to see the Lord's hand in all and has realized that he has a plan for her and she's going to enjoy the ride.

Since our visit, I haven't had a day go by where I haven't thought of her. Anything that may cause me to think, "Ugh! Why?!" is quickly pushed away by a positive thought.

I love when people of other faiths can have a positive influence on my testimony. Her faith and acceptance of His will is contagious.

So score! My goal was completed and my testimony strengthened.
