Tally Mark 15

-Still has 12 teeth; lower right canine is coming in.
-Is definitely our kid. He loves pizza & Mexican food and laughs when he burps or farts.
-Could watch for airplanes or listen to dogs bark all day.
-Likes to use a fork when he eats.
-Has slept through the night for the last 3 weeks. Usually he's out for 11 hours.
-Still takes 2 naps during the day.
-Still nurses in the morning and at night.
-Reminds Mommy that we need to brush his teeth before bedtime (he puts his fingers in his mouth and moves it around).
-Said his version of "thank you" today.
-As he's opening the dishwasher door, he tells himself, "Nein!" but does it anyway.
-Loves leather belts.
-Loves pens.
-Pretends to write with his pens.
-Is pretty good about handing things over when we ask.
-Will shake his head yes or no if we ask him questions.
-Just about the greatest thing since sliced bread.

The First Real One

The Lime got his first haircut when he was several months old. We had to get rid of the curl that randomly sprouted on the right side of his head.

Since then, I've trimmed it here and there but LaVor really wanted to let it grow a bit.

It was getting a bit scraggly and The Lime and his girl cousin almost had the same style. LaVor thankfully agreed that we could take him to the Barber and get a "real" haircut.

The Lime did such a good job! (It helped that I had a banana to feed him and he was sitting on LaVor's lap.) He wasn't keen on the hair in his face, but who is?

We knew we had a cute kid on our hands.

My Daddy Is My Favorite Pal

We play catch.

We go on walks.

We watch for airplanes.

And we learn how to tie shoes.

I Have A.D.D.

Let me preface this post by saying how blessed we are to have a living Prophet on the earth, as well as Apostles, to guide us and direct us. We would certainly be lost without them and the revelation they receive from our Father in Heaven.

For the last few days, people have been blogging about how excited they were for Conference weekend. I feel as though I've got a one-way ticket to H.E.Double hockey sticks because I don't exude the excitement as everyone else. I actually get more excited that I don't have to plan anything for singing time that week.

I think it's the same reason why I hate movies. I can't sit still for long (hence why I think I have A.D.D.) and if I do, my mind completely loses focus on what I'm supposed to be doing and tends to think about everything else under the sun.

But even with my horrible sitting still and focusing skills, I managed to get something out of it.

Elder Holland has always been a favorite of mine. Perhaps because he came to a regional conference when I was 16? I don't know, but I love him. I especially loved how he mentioned that nobody is assigned a topic. Yet everything goes together and makes perfect sense. Clearly, the Lord's hand is involved.

I was also moved by Elder Scott's talk. Did anyone else bawl their eyes out? Did you also laugh when he saluted his wife?

But my personal favorite was President Uchtdorf and not for the obvious reason. I could listen to him speak all day long. There's just something different about him (and not the accent...ah ah ah).

Despite my shortcomings, I am grateful for living at this time, where listening to the Prophets is a mere click of a button away.

27 on the 27th

It was my birthday yesterday. I went to church and had dinner with my family. Pretty wild of me, eh? I did throw on a festive headband for the celebration.

We've never been known for our singing voices. This video proves that. You may also enjoy the random "Kath!" that my dad threw in there, Amy's "Overboard" tribute and LaVor's amazing video skills. Sorry you have to tilt your head.

I Can Feel It In My Bones

After I got back into bed early this morning, after getting up with The Lime, I got a feeling.

I'm sure you've gotten this feeling. The feeling of the seasons changing. I get the feeling with Spring and Fall. The feeling of Spring reminds me of wearing shorts, my birthday, and
enjoying the longer sunlit nights. I love it.

Feeling Nostalgic

The Lime doesn't really watch tv. Every now and then, he'll look up at what we're watching, but for the most part, he's content on playing with his toys.

During lunch yesterday, I was singing, "I love you!" and was reminded of a great show I grew up on. The Lime and I enjoyed the following clip...

I can picture sitting in Katie's family room, after Mommy School, singing this song and doing all the hand motions.

Then my juices started flowing and I found this great one!

Holy cow! I couldn't believe I found Muffy! What happened to good television?! I always thought the mannequin's outfit looked like a Smucker's jar.

I had to end our tv flashbacks with my personal favorite.

I wasn't a huge fan of Sesame Street but Mr. Rogers always got me. I loved the Land of Make Believe! And I was especially fond of the times he showed us how things were made, especially crayons.

I totally know what I'm getting The Lime for Christmas. Or maybe it'll be a secret gift for me.
