Grateful for...N
N = (good) News
It's a challenge to turn on the news and ever find something good. I mean, there's things that definitely catch my attention and spark my interest, but nothing that leaves me with the warm and fuzzies.
So I rely on people for my good news fix. And right about now, I'm on a good news high. Whoopee!

Grateful for...M
M = Modesty
I get extremely uncomfortable when I wear v-neck shirts. And not because I'm afraid something will show, because you have to have something to show it. And I ain't got nothin'. I've just always been used to crew neck shirts. That sounds lame.
I also was extremely uncomfortable when I wore a bikini on my honeymoon. I suppose I thought, "I've done the deed, I can wear one now." But that was most definitely the last time because my stomach does not look like it did 5 years ago.
Recently, I've noticed more and more LDS girls/women wearing bikinis. And by all means, they have the choice/freedom too. I'm just not quite sure where the standards went. Modesty was always a major point my teachers taught growing up.
In Primary a few months back, we were learning about our bodies being Temples. I have (and sorta still do) had a desire to get a tattoo or two or three but I know we're not supposed to. We've heard the analogy time and time again; would you paint graffiti on the walls of the Temple? No. Well, then we don't get tattoos.
Same goes for bikinis. Do they leave the Temple doors open so anyone who wants, can sneak a peak? No. Then we shouldn't wear things that don't leave anything to the imagination.
And sometimes...we need to leave things to the imagination.

Grateful for...L
L = Laughter
My parents watched The Lime yesterday while I went to work.
The Lime is lucky to have my dad as his GrandPop. We grew up constantly being tickled and rough housing and now The Lime gets to enjoy it.
While I was feeding The Lime his yogurt, my dad and I were talking. My dad responded with the best one liner and I just about died. My dad chuckled when he said it, but when he saw my reaction, we were both gasping for air, wiping our tears. The Lime couldn't tell if we were laughing or crying, therefore, he didn't know what he should do. So he looked at us like we were nuts.
I love laughing. I can think of numerous occasions where I laughed so hard, my sides hurt. Especially with my dad. (Sidenote...I call him "Pop" so it's really weird to write "Dad".)
On several occasions, if I didn't know how to react, I'd just end up laughing. Like when LaVor proposed.
I'm currently listening to The Lime laugh at whatever LaVor is doing. That's definitely a sound I could listen to forever. Very sweet.
Just like these giggles.
Don't mind my extremely high/childish voice. In fact, you may want to turn your volume way down. Especially you, HC.

Grateful for...K
K = Kisses
LaVor was my first kiss and he'll be my last.
Actually, that's a lie. I believe Joe Ochoa (a neighbor boy) was my first kiss when I was 3, while we were playing "house". All I remember is getting in a LOT of trouble.
So let me re-phrase that...LaVor was my first kiss that actually meant something.
Kisses can do a lot. They make owies better, turn bad days into good, make things official, they're used as a greeting or goodbye, they make you feel appreciated and loved, they can be blown or caught, they can be wet and sloppy or short and sweet, they even come wrapped in silver foil.
If I can say one thing about kisses...
They're a little awkward when one person has their eyes open and those eyes are wandering.
Especially in your wedding photos.
But I'm grateful for them, nonetheless.

Grateful for...J
J = Jeans
It's difficult to find the perfect pair of jeans. But amazingly, LaVor found mine for me.
They have that soft, broken in feeling yet they're brand new. They're the type of jean that you want to buy a million pairs just in case you can never find them again.
Plus, I think GAP sizes their clothes differently than they should. So the little number embroidered in the back of my jeans makes me feel great, even if I'm really not supposed to be that size.

Grateful for...I
I = I Am Sam
I'm not a big movie fan but I could watch this one over and over again.
It came out during my Senior year of high school, when I was a T.A. for Zac's class. All of the kids in the class meant so much to me and I suppose my feelings were right at the surface because I started crying in the opening scene and never stopped.
The movie isn't the only great thing. The soundtrack is made up of Beatles music, performed by modern artists. Total foot tapper. Also a great companion in an hour of traffic.

Grateful for...H²
H = Happiness
H = Hard Working Husband
LaVor has always said he'll do whatever he has to in order to provide for The Lime and me. And he means it.
He takes work calls at all hours of the day and night, our weekends have been interrupted because a machine needs his magic touch, he travels to foreign lands (and I'm not talking about Saudi Arabia...it's a place called Fresno), he works in every type of weather element the Bay Area has to offer, he smashes body parts with tools, and he gets diesel fluid in his face.
All for his little family.
