Happy Birfday, Dude!

LaVor wasn't too thrilled about his birthday..."It's just another day." But I was!

We went out to dinner Saturday night (thanks again Auntie Kari for watching The Lime!), woke up today and opened presents, LaVor put together his new dresser while I got ready for church, came home and had leftovers from Saturday night and then went to celebrate with his parents. We had delicious green enchiladas (I'm hoping The Lime does okay...he didn't like red ones but so far so good on the green) and doughnuts for dessert. After many Christmases and Birthdays, LaVor finally go a Le Creuset pot...in lime green! Yippee! His parents were thrilled that we were so thrilled about the color.

Until next year, dude!

Talk About Elastic

We made pizza for dinner the other night. You know it's going to be good when the cheese extends all the way from the counter to the floor. By the way, it was good.

Coming In For A Landing

On our way to

I told LaVor to

Sure enough, this person was familiar.

Once Around The Riverbend

With the Olympics on this last week and Pocahontas on the Disney Channel this morning, I had to step back in time for a bit.

I always wanted to be an ice skater but settled on roller skating in front of my house everyday after school. I'd be out there from the second I finished my after school snack until the sun went down.

After seeing this original skating routine, I asked for the Pocahontas soundtrack for either my birthday or Christmas and skated to it everyday. I can even remember some of my "moves" to the different songs.

I ended up breaking my arms on two different occasions while skating, hence why I haven't put on a pair of roller skates since the 7th grade. But after this morning, I have the urge to skate! I'm sure I'd look like a fool and go for a 3rd break.

Tally Mark 1

-He smiles at Daddy way more than Mommy
-His eyes are starting to turn blue
-He doesn't howl when we change his diaper anymore
-He's almost completely grown out of his NB clothes
-He has a tendency of holding up his middle finger
-He can hold his head up like a champ
-He took his first bottle (with breast milk in it) the other day, with no hesitations
-He still won't keep a binky in his mouth
-His fingernails grow at an amazing rate but his toenails don't seem to grow at all
-He sleeps like a big boy in his crib, with his new baseball nightlight
-We love him to pieces

It Works!

I've purchased several products throughout my 25 years on this earth, hoping that they really do what the ads say they do. Up until this week, I've been disappointed.

When I buy my deodorant, I base my purchase on how it smells. Every now and then, I like to try a new scent so when I was due to buy another one, I decided the try this...

(wild rose)

Not only did it smell good but there was an added bonus that it would "minimize the visual appearance of hair over time". I wasn't holding my breath on the bonus just in case it would end up disappointing me.

But it didn't! I've never been able to get a "clean shave" with my under pits, no matter what razor I use, whether I use shaving cream, soap or nothing. Not only have I gotten the cleanest shave in my life after using this deodorant but the amount of hair that grows has minimized! I wonder if I could swipe it over my legs and see what happens?

It feels good to not have been cheated by another product. Thanks Dove.
