Grateful for...R

R = Red Robe

Almost exactly like mine.

All growing up, I always wanted a robe but never remember asking for one.

So a few years back, I finally got with it and put it on my Christmas list.  Santa delivered.

I hate getting out of the warm shower when it's freezing cold but my trusty robe makes it easier.

When The Lime was born, I spent most days in my pajamas and robe.  It was blessed with many spews of spit-up.  Thankfully it can be washed and still maintain its snuggly soft texture.

Only downside, it gets SUPER staticky, which doesn't help with my already static filled body.  But at least it keeps me cozy at the same time.

Grateful for...Q

Q = Quiet time

Normally, The Lime wakes up between 6:30-7:00.

Monday, he didn't wake up until after 8.  That extra hour was WONDERFUL!

We went about our morning routine and transitioned into lunch.  The Lime wanted nothing that I prepared for him and few things make me more angry than throwing food on the ground and being kicked.  So when lunch was over, I was ready for The Lime to go down for his nap.

But he wasn't.

The next 2 hours were spent with lots of "Uh oh's", poop, water re-fills and jabbering.

Although he didn't take a nap (which amazes me that he wasn't a zombie by the end of the day), he still had some quiet time.  It was needed by both parties.

Grateful for...P

P = Parents

At Disneyland last year.

 I have no clue how my parents raised 5 kids.

But they did and I think they're enjoying this time as Grandparents more than anything else.

My parents are great.  They're more than willing to help us (meaning my siblings and me) out, at the drop of a hat, no matter what.  They love to watch The Lime and ask us how much they can pay US to watch him.  Ah Ah Ah!  They've brought cars to us, let us borrow theirs for trips to the snow, they pay for us to park at craft shows, they listen and offer good advice, they don't judge us and never have, they kiss us and tell us they love us every time we say goodbye, they're our biggest cheerleaders.

We are blessed.

Grateful for...O

O = Omi

My Omi lives across the country and comes to visit maybe twice a year.  But she usually stays for a while, so it helps.

She got into town Sunday night and we had our first family dinner at my parents' new house.  It was great!

The Lime was a bit hesitant of Omi but as we were leaving, he made sure to give her hugs and kisses and said, "Bye bye, Mimi!"

Omi and I share the month of March for our birthdays.  We're 60 years and 4 days apart so I can always remember how old she is.

I'm super duper excited to have Omi visiting, and not just for my personal happiness but so the Lime can make some special memories with her.

Grateful for...N

N = (good) News

It's a challenge to turn on the news and ever find something good.  I mean, there's things that definitely catch my attention and spark my interest, but nothing that leaves me with the warm and fuzzies.

So I rely on people for my good news fix.  And right about now, I'm on a good news high.  Whoopee!

Grateful for...M

M = Modesty

I actually like the one on the left more.

I get extremely uncomfortable when I wear v-neck shirts.  And not because I'm afraid something will show, because you have to have something to show it.  And I ain't got nothin'.  I've just always been used to crew neck shirts.  That sounds lame.

I also was extremely uncomfortable when I wore a bikini on my honeymoon.  I suppose I thought, "I've done the deed, I can wear one now."  But that was most definitely the last time because my stomach does not look like it did 5 years ago.

Recently, I've noticed more and more LDS girls/women wearing bikinis.  And by all means, they have the choice/freedom too.  I'm just not quite sure where the standards went.  Modesty was always a major point my teachers taught growing up.

In Primary a few months back, we were learning about our bodies being Temples.  I have (and sorta still do) had a desire to get a tattoo or two or three but I know we're not supposed to.  We've heard the analogy time and time again; would you paint graffiti on the walls of the Temple?  No.  Well, then we don't get tattoos.

Same goes for bikinis.  Do they leave the Temple doors open so anyone who wants, can sneak a peak?  No.  Then we shouldn't wear things that don't leave anything to the imagination.

And sometimes...we need to leave things to the imagination.

Grateful for...L

L = Laughter

"A laugh is a smile that bursts."

My parents watched The Lime yesterday while I went to work.

The Lime is lucky to have my dad as his GrandPop.  We grew up constantly being tickled and rough housing and now The Lime gets to enjoy it.

While I was feeding The Lime his yogurt, my dad and I were talking.  My dad responded with the best one liner and I just about died.  My dad chuckled when he said it, but when he saw my reaction, we were both gasping for air, wiping our tears.  The Lime couldn't tell if we were laughing or crying, therefore, he didn't know what he should do.  So he looked at us like we were nuts.

I love laughing.  I can think of numerous occasions where I laughed so hard, my sides hurt.  Especially with my dad.  (Sidenote...I call him "Pop" so it's really weird to write "Dad".)

On several occasions, if I didn't know how to react, I'd just end up laughing.  Like when LaVor proposed.

I'm currently listening to The Lime laugh at whatever LaVor is doing.  That's definitely a sound I could listen to forever.  Very sweet.

Just like these giggles.

Don't mind my extremely high/childish voice.  In fact, you may want to turn your volume way down.  Especially you, HC.
