I've never had a desire to go to Oregon...until now.


Pine State Restaurant...hopefully we'll be meeting soon.

My sister-in-law dropped by tonight and gave me the cutest shirt...


I've been contemplating this last week on whether or not I would continue training and participate in the walk. I have pro's and con's for each side and have been thinking about last years walk, non-stop. It was such an amazing experience.

This shirt has added another point to the "pro" side.

I Went Searching

Do you know how hard it is to find something that says "happy" where we live? After driving around and around, I remembered I had a birthday card in my car. Thank you to the Veteran's Memorial for "memorial" and a furniture store for "day".

I had a goal of finishing a book that I'm reading by Memorial Day. I failed. According to my sister, it must not be "interesting enough". That's not it. I just enjoy sleeping rather than reading at 2 am.

It's called "The Good War". I don't pick the most uplifting books, again according to my sister; Breast cancer and World War II. But I've enjoyed it so far. What I've really enjoyed is at the end of each account, the person tells what they've learned from the War.

Sarah Killingsworth said, "In ways it was too bad that so many lives were lost. But I think it was for a worthy cause, because it did make a way for us."

General William Buster added, "I'm certainly not a warlike. I always think, Blessed be the peacemakers. But somebody's gotta take care of the peacemakers while they're makin' peace."

I don't want to sound like a broken record since I express my gratitude for soldiers often (it seems like) but again, I'm very appreciative for the lives that were given so I can be free.

Until the 4th of July for another patriotic spiel. That one will be oozing with red, white and blue.

Give & Receive

We are now just 2 months shy of the Avon Walk! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. The walk will be here before I know it. So far, my Mom and I have walked 17 miles during our Saturday walks. Only 7 more to reach our training goal that we accomplished last year.

I'm lucky to have received 4 movie passes to the Cinema West Theatres. (There's a list of locations on their website) They were more than willing to donate them to this wonderful cause! I'm so grateful for their generosity!

The first 4 people that make a donation of $25 or more, will receive 1 pass each to the movies. I know they'll go fast!

I know I say it all the time but I really am grateful for all of you and the support you've offered me. It helps to know I have a group of cheerleaders behind me.

Leaving Their Mark

On my walk this morning, I noticed the insane amount of traveling our local snails are doing. Their snail slime, which is really just mucus, resembled the ice after an ice skater has performed their routine. I managed not to step on one single snail, even with my gigantic feet. Consider that going "green".


Obviously not much is happening with us if I'm posting about snails.
