Best Buds...Almost

t
She wasn't so sure of him at first. In fact, Kari is certain Grace said her version of his name and then shook her head "no!" But after 4 weeks of him invading her space, I think she's getting a bit used to him. I even caught them holding hands.

Now we just need a picture with the other 3 cousins, all born within the last year.

Tally Mark 3

-He's enjoying tummy time so much more. He holds his head up very well!
-He rolled over for the 1st time on 4/5, from tummy to back.
-He's like his cousin and gets excited when he smiles. He brings his hands close to his face and does a Ray Charles head movement.
-He manages to wake up at the perfect time for his early morning feeding, depending on what time Mommy has to get up for work.
-He's starting to "kick" his way around. I'll find him at an angle in his crib each morning even though I laid him down straight.
-He loves sucking on his hands and if he manages to relax his fingers, we think he'll be a thumb sucker.
-Since he was born, he keeps his hands in a fist and tucks his thumbs underneath the rest of his fingers.
-He's definitely going to be a blondie.
-I think his first word will be "hi!"
-We're crazy about him...still.

Lunch With Zac

While at work yesterday, a song came on the radio that was included in Zac's video which was played at his funeral. I looked down at the clock and realized it was exactly 6 months earlier that my Mom had called me to tell me the news. It's still hard to believe.

The sun decided to come out today so I packed the kiddos up and we had a picnic with Zac. I shared some stories with Will and he told me that Zac had grape vines in Heaven. We munched on our peanut butter and crackers and I accidentally let out a burp. Zac would have laughed, I know it.

We should do it again sometime.

HMB

With the weather being so lovely and me not having to watch the kiddos yesterday, we took my Mom up on her invitation and joined her and Omi on their trip to Half Moon Bay.

Now, I've driven through Half Moon Bay and went to a Youth Conference there but never actually walked around Downtown or visited the beach. Instead of taking 92 all the way, we went up 101 and crossed over to the coast so we could drive through Pacifica. I had never been on Devil's Slide...a little scary. I couldn't imagine driving on it in the rain. We reminisced about Daddy MooMoo and the time he had to get out of the car and walk along the yellow line while MooMoo drove next to him since the fog was so bad. We also talked a while about Omi's time up in Fort Bragg. I miss that place.

We arrived in Half Moon Bay and went straight to lunch at a yummy bakery. We then walked/rolled along Downtown and found an adorable baby clothing store. Unfortunately, I can't justify paying over $30 for a shirt. Sorry, Lime. We finished the day by heading to the beach...or at least to an area where we could see the ocean for a few pictures. Turns out the Ritz Carlton was just up the road from us. Fancy Shmancy, if I do say so myself.

Don't pay any attention to my hair. I didn't "do" it since I knew it'd be windy but now I regret it. Some things you should just do and my hair is one of them

Third Times The Charm

Perhaps after participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for the third time, it'll make a positive difference for my friends facing the nastiness of this disease.

If you're wondering why I'm walking again, check this post out and this one too.

Destiny

When we were visiting Boston in July, we attended the Red Sox/A's game.

If you've ever been to Boston, you know EVERYONE is pretty much a Red Sox fan. When there's a baseball game here, the local fans will wear their teams colors. In Boston, whether there's a game or not, their fans are covered from head to toe in blue and red. Needless to say, we were the only ones in green and gold the night of the game. Or so we thought.

We hesitantly took the train to the stadium and were relieved when another couple boarded the train with A's hats on. We immediately struck up a conversation and talked until we went our separate ways to our seats. We regretted not getting their contact information just in case they were ever in town for an A's game (they were from Southern California).

Months later, the A's were having a promotion for Jason Giambi bobble heads. The gentleman we met in Boston was a huge Giambi fan. The night before the game, we talked about how neat it would be if we saw them again. Sure enough, when LaVor was buying his hot dog, he ran into Jim. Crazy!

Fast forward to last Friday, the 2nd. We were eating dinner, talking about our plans for Saturday (going to the A's Fan Appreciation Day) and I wondered if by chance, we'd see Jim & Karen.

We woke up Saturday morning, got our A's gear on and headed to the Coliseum. We walked around for a bit, saw Alex and his mom, listened to Mark Ellis and a couple other players do a Q&A session. As we were heading to the next tent, we heard someone say, "Hey!" We turned around and sure enough, it was Jim!

They left L.A. at 2 in the morning and drove straight to Oakland for the day. We finally exchanged contact information (and names) and talked for a bit.

We've determined that we are destined to be friends. Meeting across the country, despite both living on the West coast and then running into each other 2 other times, at heavily populated events. What are the chances that we would have run into them? I'm not good at statistics but I'm sure it was slim to none.

It Was Either Laugh Or Cry

We both took the day off and were going to celebrate my birthday, since we weren't able to do it on the actual date.

Later that week, we were going to be making a dinner for our Singles Ward bishopric and I was in charge of the dessert. I needed some mousse molds so we drove to Sur La Table on Santana Row. I wanted some inspiration for flavors so we shared 2 desserts at Cocola Bakery and enjoyed every bite of them. On our way to Gilroy, we decided that a lemon and raspberry mousse would be yummy.

At the time, LaVor was working in Gilroy and he needed to stop by the store for a minute. On our way, I got a call from my Mom asking me how the day was going and what we had done? It was a little out of the ordinary since I normally told her about my day once I got home but I went ahead and shared with her that we found the molds and decided on what dessert to make.

After getting what he needed in Gilroy, we drove across the mountain to Santa Cruz. I wasn't too excited about going to the beach since the weather was cold and rainy but LaVor insisted. We pulled into Natural Bridges and the place was E M P T Y! We got out and walked around for a bit when LaVor started acting weird. He kept pretending to tie his shoe...even though it wasn't untied. I finally told him, "If you're going to do it, just do it! If not, quit playing around!" He took my advice and did it. He got down on one knee and asked me if I'd be his wife. I was on the verge of crying so I started to laugh.

The answer was yes.

He still claims that I was laughing at him but I wasn't. I couldn't have been more thrilled and excited to end the dating process and get on to bigger and better things!

It then clicked as to why my Mom called us during the day. Earlier that week, she and Pop met with LaVor and he asked their permission to propose. I knew something was up when my parents said they were going out to dinner. They never went out to dinner on Wednesday nights. I called LaVor on my way to work that night and asked him if he was meeting with them. He said no. He lied. They were sitting right there with him.

I'm annoyed that we didn't have any pictures from that day but here's a picture from two days after...(yes, those are the Fa'anunus sitting behind us)

What better way to celebrate than a trip to the Ice Creamery?

Now we're here, 4 years later, with a little Lime that has the hiccups and won't stop tooting.
