Way.To.Go.

Baseball season for the Oakland Athletics is coming to an end. We wanted to enjoy one last game while we could. We got our A's gear on from head to toe and drove out to Oakland.

The weather this year has been quite a roller coaster. We're officially in Fall but last night, it felt like we were in the dead of Summer. I've never been to such a warm night game. It was actually nice not having to worry about making sure The Lime was warm enough or keeping our blanket off the peanut shell covered ground.

We got in our seats just in time to see the A's head into their dugout. Several said "Hi!", including my personal favorite, Mark Ellis. At one point, Coco Crisp was trying to get The Lime's attention but he was focused on other things. I've made the mistake in the past, thinking the players were looking at us when they really weren't, so I didn't think Coco was interacting with The Lime. I kept turning around to see who he was talking to but nobody was there. I suppose you just need to be 8 months old and have a mohawk in order to get a player's attention.

The Lime did super duper for the most part. Around the bottom of the 5th, he got a little restless so I decided to walk around with him so he could get out the wiggles. At one point, I could feel someone walking super close behind me so I tried to move over so they could pass by. Next thing I heard was, "Oh yeah! It is Kimberly!" It was my brother-in-law, Alex. It always amazes me how two people can connect in such a large venue at the exact same time.

The Lime ended up on the big screen twice and had a fan base by the end of the game. As we were leaving, several ladies came up to us and said, "Is that the baby that was on tv?!" He's less than a year and already a ladies man. We have our work cut out for us.

The A's ended up losing 10-3. Ugh! Are we surprised? No. Disappointed? A bit. Hopeful for next year? Oh yeah!

The Great Outdoors

As I left for Target this morning, I noticed our front yard was full of all sorts of interesting things.

An awfully large spider, spinning a web in our daisies.

A group of mushrooms popping up from the ground.

And a nice pile of cat, possibly small dog, poop drying out in the sun.

Yuck.

Tally Mark 8

-He's becoming less of a baby and more of a little boy.
-He does this "screeching" noise that KILLS when it's done right in your ear.
-Pulls up on anything he can get his hands on. Our shelves are going to have to find another room to live in.
-Loves to eat paper.
-Finally got a big boy seat so we don't have to feed him on the ground anymore.
-Is eating two "real" meals a day. It makes Mommy sad.
-Can give a hi-5.
-Got his first real battle wounds this week. Bonked his mouth on the corner of our rocking chair and bled quite a bit. Then that night, he slipped in the bathtub and got a bruise on his forehead.
-Tries to say things but can't quite figure it out.
-Only has to wear a bib when he eats. The spit up is down to "every once in a while".
-LOVES to be outside. We took him on a walk last night and the second we opened the door, he wiggled with delight.
-Likes it when we ring our cow bell.
-Loves drinking out of a straw.
-Enjoys butting heads with Daddy. He looks like a bull, ready to charge.
-Absolutely the sweetest thing in the world!

CONTAGiOUS

I was sick last week and am still coughing up a lung (poor LaVor...he suffers at night more than I do), The Lime's nose has stopped running but he coughs every now and then and LaVor is popping cold medicine at night. Looks like I was contagious.

What else is contagious? Laughter.

I have a particular co-worker that has the most infectious laugh. 75% if the time, I can't hear her conversation but the second she laughs, I laugh. It's uncontrollable.

This video has the same affect on me.

iCore Cruncher Infomercial: "Barry Bright and the 'iCore Crunchers' have just the workout for you!"

I CAN NOT say "Barry! Barry Bright!" only once. And I can't hear it without laughing.

It's like Pringles...once you pop, you can't stop.

Come On, Folks!

With having Monday off, my week has completely been tumbled around and I can hardly keep track of what day it is. Thus, almost forgetting that today was September 11th.

I can't believe it's been 9 years.

And I can't believe that people are already putting what happened on the back burner and making this day a day of protests and anger.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends that lost a loved one, that Tuesday morning.

A sister of one of the flight attendants killed on 9/11 told The New York Times, "I'm tired of talking about everything else, tired of politics. Today is about loss."

The bond that we as Americans felt that day and weeks after, was indescribable. People put out their flags, joined together in Memorials for those we lost, and we were truly the United States of America.

Why must good things come to an end?

Gold Rush Days

For a couple weeks now, my family had been planning a visit up to Sacramento to visit our extended family.

Growing up, we would have a family reunion over Labor Day weekend which included river rafting and a bbq at my Uncle's house. As time passed and kids got older, the reunion fizzled out and for several years, there was no event.

I think it started the year we got married, a few families got together again and headed down the river, like old times. With 3 babies in the mix this year, rafting wasn't an option but we still wanted to head up and pay a visit.

My mom found out that Old Sacramento was hosting a Gold Rush Days event. The roads were lined with dirt, wagons carried people from here to there, actors were dressed in the traditional clothing of that time and the city was transformed.

These actors were admiring the remote the The Lime has claimed as a toy.

I loved the color of this wagon. A nice sea foam green.

After lunch, breaking the rules and taking the stroller down the escalator.

The cool tour.

Crazy lady that kept trying to touch The Lime. I can call her crazy because she said she was.

Grand Pop & The Lime. We were sitting next to a donkey that no matter what, always ended up with its rear right next to these two.

We decided to stop by the Mormon Battalion tent, for obvious reasons. Yikes...big mistake! The man that was representing the Mormon Battalion would not.stop.talking! My dad loves to talk and even HE was trying to inch his way towards the exit.

Eureka!

The Lime had been strapped into his stroller all day. He finally got the chance to be free and could hardly contain himself.

We were lucky enough to enjoy dinner with my Grandma Mary. We're blessed to be able to spend time with such a great lady. She's the queen of advice :o)

And Many More...On Channel 4

Yesterday was Zac's birthday.

We brought him a sign, sang happy birthday, laughed and cried.

The grounds crew was just up the hill from us, doing some work on the lawn. They happened to stop their work, as well as their conversation, at the same time that I got emotional. I don't know if they could tell I was having a "moment" but I appreciated the silence.

Zac's mom adorns everything with darling ribbons. Even the precious flowers.

LaVor taught the lesson in YM on Sunday and shared a story about Zac to the boys. It just so happened that while he was telling the story, The Lime got super excited and started kicking his feet while making sweet noises.

I know they were buds. I know because when I turn the computer off at night and The Lime sees Zac's picture on our desktop, he smiles.

I also know that yesterday, Zac had the most delicious slice of cake he's ever tasted.
