Called to Serve
We're not going on a mission...although that's what it feels like. I don't know what to expect, starting something completely new, will have to be out of my comfort zone.
I was released from YW (I've been crying for a week) and have been called as the...
Primary Chorister. (Hey...I do sorta look like that; short, flippy hair. And I do have one of those wands...thanks to Steve Groch during my Sacrament Meeting Chorister calling. Not sure the kids will be smiling like that once I start, though.)
When I told my sister I wasn't looking forward to my new calling, she asked why. I answered with, "Primary". She laughed at me with a tone in her voice like, "Oh, you just wait. You'll have years of primary in front of you".
Oh joy...oh bliss.

Goin' To The Chapel...

My friend/co-worker got married last weekend and it has put me in a wedding mood! I just love everything about weddings. And I've always been like this. In fact, while most young girls were playing with dolls, I was playing "wedding". It included a cake, dress, flowers, the whole 9 yards.
The next wedding we'll be attending is about a month away and I can't wait! (You'd think I was the one getting married, I'm so excited.)

The Last One To Arrive
For a while there, LaVor and I had 5 sisters & sis-in-laws pregnant. The last baby was born today.

The pictures don't do her justice. But my phone was the only camera I had. I'll post "better" pictures when I have a chance to take them.
So Happy Birthday baby Grace, Pop & Keith!
Let the next round of babies begin!

New Hairspray Recommendations
I've been using my current hairspray brand for the last...4 years. I love the way it smells and how well it keeps my bangs in place. I haven't done additional research to see if it's sold anywhere else besides Sally Beauty Supply but I may have to look into it.
The reason being...
Sally is now charging me $1.20 extra for the same stinkin' hairspray that was ONCE $5.79. It was $6.79 the last time I bought it...roughly 2 months ago, I'd say.
Not to mention, they've altered how the can looks to make it appear as if you're getting more (taller can) but you're not. The width of the can is just smaller.
So if you have any hairsprays to recommend, I'm willing to change (arg...hate that!) what I'm currently using. I'm not a fan of spending $8.00 for hairspray, even if it is for my bangs!
Requirements:
-Has to smell nice
-Has to keep my bangs in place as in they can't move...at all
-Has to be aerosol...I don't do pumps
-Reasonably priced

They Fooled Me Good
One of my favorite movies is Big Business. When we decided to go to New York, I decided I had to visit was the Plaza Hotel, since that's where quite a bit of the movie took place.
As we were walking in Central Park, I saw this...
It was exactly like the movie! I got excited and wanted to get closer.
We made it to the front door...again, just like the movie!
Now for the real excitement...the amazing lobby! You'll have to see the movie to really know what I'm talking about. We go through the revolving door (just like Rose & Sadie) and this is what we saw...

I heard a big "womp, womp, womp" in my head. Whoa! Nothing like the movie!
If I had done a google search before our trip, my dreams would not have been shattered.
"The interior Plaza Hotel scenes were filmed on soundstages in MGM Studios, Florida."
I was even looking forward to ordering a mint julep...minus the bourbon.

Last Fun Thing We Did
Before we left for our trip, our blog was lacking pizazz. After this post, we'll be back at our starting point.
After the trip and the walk, we had one more thing to do...go see Coldplay!
We haven't been to a concert since Bridge School but this was way better, in my humble opinion.
Chris Martin has a great personality; very funny and cute. I couldn't get over how talented all of the band members were. They all played many different instruments throughout the night.
If it weren't for the crazy time we had getting out of the parking lot and crazy drive home (because of the driver) and 4 hours of sleep I got that night, I would have considered the night perfect. Oh yeah, and they didn't play "our" song...then it really would have been perfect.
(I love LaVor's "Sit down!" in this one)
